Meditation can be approached through practices from all the great spiritual traditions. In the state of meditation, freed from the confines of the ordinary ego mind, we naturally feel lovingly and compassionately connected to all life. That awareness transforms individuals, groups and nations.
Anam Cara Meditation is also dedicated to making meditation instruction available to those who may not even be aware of its tremendous benefits, or be able to come to a program. These benefits, which have substantial scientific research behind them, include improved cardio-vascular health, reduced stress and anxiety, improved immune responses, more positive mood, increased focus, enhanced performance, better anger management, reduced cholesterol levels, reduced blood pressure, improved sleep, and the list goes on and on. Meditation holds the key to enhanced health, optimal performance, peak mental fitness, spiritual fulfillment and true peace. When COVID isn’t an issue, we offer programs at hospitals, hospices, universities and other centers where we are invited to teach meditation. Through the Anam Cara Meditation online programs, our website and our monthly e-newsletter we offer free meditation instruction and support for deepening your meditation practice.
On this site you will find free meditation instructions, the Heart Sutra and chanting sheets, and free audio files of a guided meditations. There are also Events listed in the above menu for the meditation programs offered, including our twice monthly open meditation group which is now meeting via Zoom to keep everyone safe.
