Welcome to the Anam Cara Meditation FoundationThe mission of the non-profit Anam Cara Meditation Foundation is to teach meditative practices from many traditions to everyone interested and thereby change the level of consciousness informing individual and group actions.  Meditation develops that “new manner of thinking” referred to by Einstein, which many discover is also an eternal, timeless mode of unity awareness.  Meditation can be approached through practices from all the great spiritual traditions. In the state of meditation, freed from the confines of the ordinary ego mind, we naturally feel lovingly and compassionately connected to all life, knowing that to harm another is to harm ourselves.  Spreading that awareness will transform groups and nations.  Meditation opens the door to the radically different type of consciousness necessary not just for survival, but for the total relief of suffering and the unprecedented flourishing of human creativity and compassion of which we are capable. Meditation gives people access to the inner resources necessary to accomplish all this.

In addition to teaching meditative disciplines at our center, Anam Cara is dedicated to making meditation instruction available to those who may not even be aware of its tremendous benefits or able to come to a program. These benefits, which have substantial scientific research behind them, include improved cardio-vascular health, reduced stress and anxiety, improved immune responses, more positive mood, increased focus, enhanced performance, better anger management, reduced cholesterol levels, reduced blood pressure, improved sleep, and the list goes on and on. Meditation holds the key to enhanced health, optimal performance, peak mental fitness, spiritual fulfillment and true peace. We put on programs at hospitals, hospices, universities and other centers where we are invited to teach meditation.
